Happy Birthday Maeve!

To my Maevie Baby,

How long can I keep calling you that because you are not a baby anymore. You just turned two! These last two years have flown by. I love you so much Maeve. You have given me some of my biggest struggles as a parent but I wouldn't change a thing. For all the struggle have come the laughs and the snuggles. You light up everyone's life that's around you. Screaming HI! at all the strangers we pass on the street.

You are so expressive and curious. Nothing holds you back and your persistence one day will be inspiring. You are always hungry and never turn down food. You love your independence . You insist to attempt to do everything on your own first and that sometimes is tough when it is usually done in effort to copy your older sister Olive. You have baby fever from the baby dolls at home that never leave your side or the ones that you lunge at, at the stores and the park. You are going to be such a good Mom one day I can already see it now.

You have these one worded sentences for everything that you will put on repeat to get your point across. You get pretty creative with this. Your knowing nods and glances kill me.

There are so many times I have cried questioning if I am the right Mom for you (not that you have a choice) but I do my best and love you to pieces always. You have challenged me to be the best Mom I can be. You aren't going to let motherhood come at me with ease. You keep us all on our toes and I wouldn't have it any other way. You may be a Daddy's girl but you will always need your Mom and I am here with open arms when you need me.

Forever and always, your Mom

Happy Birthday Olive!

To my dear Olive,

Today you turned four years old! I can't believe how fast these last four years have flown by. I love you soooo much Olive! There has been no greater joy then being your Mom. You have so much of my personality that we clash a lot of times but I know that will never come between us. I want you to know there is nothing you could do to change how much I love you. You have changed your fathers and my life for the better.

I love watching you grow. Your a cautious, calculated thinker. But you have a big heart and are constantly keeping an eye on everyone around you. You are quick to comfort the people you care about. Since you have been in school, most kids tell their parents what they do in a day and you come home with stories about all the other kids instead. You have been an amazing older sister to Maeve. She looks up to you and you love to include her in all your games and adventures. You are a little diva who is obsessed with all things dresses and sparkles. Everyday you dance and sing around the house with not a care in the world. You are so creative, from your art, to make believe games, to your outfits for the day. Lately you have come to calling me "Mommy Honey" or "Mom Hun" and I have to laugh because it is out of affection in the same way I say "Olive, Hun."

Every time I hold you, I can't get over how lucky I am to have you as my daughter. You're beautiful on the inside and out. Those gorgeous crystal blue eyes and blonde hair. You always seem to catch us off guard and keep us on our toes. You just started school now and are growing a little more everyday. I am excited for this next chapter for you and I will cherish these last four years forever. You have taught me so much.

I love you more then you will ever know Olive!

Forever and always your Mom
